Results from Mark II

This page contains the results from the testing of the Mark II engine.

After loads of testing the Mark II results were as expected, with no afterburner the engine produced 52 pounds of thrust at 100% RPM, with a 6 gallon per hour fuel nozzle at 450 psi. fuel pressure. Estimated consumption is somewhere in the neighboorhood of 19 gallons of fuel per hour. The afterburner was a success and developed over 80 pounds of thrust at 100% RPM and the fuel consumption is unkown, but probably over 40 gallons per hour total. The compressor discharge temperature at 100% RPM is about 325 degrees F. The EGT at full power1200 degrees F. I have decided that the engine is virtually useless for anything except making lots of noise and scaring people, it is entetaining and exciting to start and run but still none the less it has no use, so I have decided to stop testing untill I have more money, I have some new ideas, but it will take money to test them. I am now building a motorcycle, which I can enjoy much more.
